Comprehensive Energy Audit

A Comprehensive Electrical Energy Audit is a detailed assessment of the energy use of a building or facility in order to identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost savings. The audit typically involves a thorough analysis of electrical systems, including lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) motors & utilities as well as the use of appliances and other electrical equipment.

Why Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation?

    • Continuous Increase in the Cost of Energy
There is an increase of 100 to 300% in the cost of energy in the last 6 years.
    • Depleting sources of primary energy like Coal, Oil, and Natural Gas
World oil & Gas reserves are estimated to last for a limited period of 40 to 60 years.
    • Continuous Increase in Demand for Energy
Due to Industrialization & Improvement in the standard of living, there is a continuous increase in demand for Energy
    • Increased Competition due to Liberalization and Globalization
This has driven every business to adopt and implement various cost-cutting and quality-improvement measures.Energy cost is a very significant cost in the economy of most industries, utilities, and service sectors. Energy contributes a significant part of operational costs across the globe, as high as 30% in many process industries.
    • Environmental issue
The adverse impact of the increase in energy production and consumption on the environment, particularly climate change arising from greenhouse gas emissions.

Scope of 5% to 20% saving in energy cost even in professionally managed organization.

Our Experience shows that even in the most professionally – Managed Companies it is possible to Save 5 to 20% on Energy – Costs with a very, very attractive payback period. It is mostly possible by better operating practices, upgradation in instrumentation & control systems, modification in inefficient plants & also technical up gradation, etc. Energy conservation in existing facilities helps control costs and can be used to finance equipment replacements.

In this context, to serve the Industries, utilities, and service sector, through better and viable energy cost-cutting technologies and measures, Saurabh Engineering Services has been carrying out an energy audit.

The goal of an electrical energy audit is to identify areas of high energy usage and to recommend changes that can reduce energy consumption and energy cost while maintaining or improving the functionality. The audit may include the following steps:

  1. Data Collection: Collecting data on energy consumption and usage patterns, including meter readings, utility bills, and equipment specifications.
  2. Site Inspection: A site inspection is conducted to identify areas of high energy use and low energy efficiency.
  3. Analysis: Data is analyzed to identify opportunities for energy savings and to develop recommendations for improvements.
  4. Recommendations: A report is generated that outlines specific recommendations for energy efficiency improvements, including equipment upgrades, retrofits, and behavioral changes.
  5. Implementation: Once recommendations are made, the facility manager can decide which changes to implement, and how to prioritize them based on cost and potential energy savings.
  6. Monitoring and Verification: After implementation, ongoing monitoring and verification are important to ensure that the changes have been effective and to identify any further opportunities for improvement.

A comprehensive electrical energy audit can result in significant energy savings and cost reductions, as well as increased comfort and productivity. It can also help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve the sustainability of a building or facility.
